About Me
I am a nurse practitioner who has worked in the field of pain management since 2000. Although my initial motivation to take a position in pain management may have been driven by the desire to have off on weekends and holidays, the experience ignited a passion that ultimately led to my pursuit of an advanced degree. This allowed me to better serve the ever growing population of people who suffer from chronic pain. My core mission is twofold: to help improve the lives of patients in pain and to help those who struggle to provide care to these patients. Pain is not easy, and managing it requires flexibility, creativity, hard work and understanding both on the part of the provider and the patient.
I completed my undergraduate nursing degree at Seton Hall University and worked for a number of years as a hospital nurse. I obtained a Master’s in Science of Nursing from Rutgers University and I am credentialed through the ANCC as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. In 2019 I earned a certificate as an Integrative Nurse Coach through the International Nurse Coach Association (INCA). My work has been published in Pain Management Nursing and my speaking engagements include the National Conference for the American Society of Pain Management Nurses (ASPMN) and the National Conference for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). As an avid educator, I have participated in hospital training for nurses in pain management, corporate education on pain management, pharmaceutical advisory boards, and served as an adjunct faculty member at Seton Hall University. My goal is to not only continue to learn and grow, but to help patients and other professionals see their potential for growth as well.
